Stagg High School secured fourth place with 145 points at the Southwest Suburban Conference meet, while Oswego Co-Op claimed the title with 305 points on Saturday.

The event was held on October 4 at Lincoln-Way Central High School and featured competitive programs from across the conference.

Despite finishing behind Oswego Co-Op, Lincoln-Way Central, and Sandburg, Stagg demonstrated determination and improvement. Sophomore Tornado Szczepaniak led the Chargers with a strong performance in both the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke, earning a total of 18 points. Teammates Vaiva Nainyte and Julia Moffett contributed in freestyle events, while Adeline Gawel’s performance in the 100 fly added to Stagg’s scoring. The Chargers’ consistency across multiple heats highlighted their growing balance as they approach the postseason.

According to upcoming plans, Stagg will compete in a home dual meet against Andrew on October 10 at 5 p.m., followed by an invitational at Lockport on October 12. Both meets are considered final preparations before the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) sectional later this month.

In previous encounters, Stagg faced Oswego in dual-meet action last season where they were defeated 158–115, setting up for this year’s more competitive showing.
