Stagg High School is set to commence its 2025-26 basketball season on home turf, facing Argo in the opening round of the Thanksgiving Classic. The Chargers aim to begin the year with a decisive victory against a well-known nonconference opponent.
The game is scheduled for November 24, 2025, at 6 p.m. in Palos Hills, Illinois.
According to reports, Stagg enters the season with the advantage of playing on their home court and having a roster that includes several returning key players. This gives the Chargers an early opportunity to establish rhythm and set expectations in front of their supporters. Argo, also starting its season, will attempt to counter with defensive pressure and pace. However, the matchup appears to favor Stagg due to their size, depth, and familiarity with the tournament atmosphere. With both teams beginning at 0-0, this opener offers a chance to reset after last year’s mixed results and gain early momentum before league play begins.
Stagg’s tournament play will continue on December 3 against Shepard.
The teams last faced each other on January 22, 2024, when Stagg secured a 58-49 victory on the road thanks to a strong second-half defensive performance.
