The Stagg Chargers faced a challenging night on the road Friday, falling 40-0 to Thornwood in a non-conference matchup in South Holland, Illinois. Despite the scoreline, Stagg showed flashes of competitiveness and resilience against a strong Thunderbirds squad.
The game took place on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Thornwood High School. According to reports, the Chargers fought hard in the first half, with quarterback Malakhi Adams connecting on several key passes and running back Antonio Benson Jr. continuing to be a bright spot for Stagg’s offense. Defensively, Julius McDavis and Lamari Hall anchored the front, combining for solid tackles and pressure on Thornwood’s quarterback.
While Thornwood’s high-powered offense eventually pulled away, Stagg’s young lineup gained valuable experience and continues to develop under pressure. Adams’ passing efficiency and Benson’s consistent ground attack remain encouraging signs for the Chargers’ future.
With one of the state’s toughest schedules this season, Stagg continues to build toward long-term growth and improvement. The Chargers will look to regroup in practice this week and refocus their energy heading into their next contest, determined to finish the season strong and prove their progress on both sides of the ball.
