The Stagg High School boys’ cross country team achieved a significant victory this weekend by winning the varsity division at the Rich Dust Invitational. The team’s performance was spearheaded by senior Jack Krusinski.
Krusinski led from the start, finishing first with a time of 15 minutes and 11 seconds for the three-mile race. According to reports, his decisive win provided the Chargers with the momentum necessary to claim the team title in a competitive field.
Stagg’s success was further bolstered by junior Bill Szeszycki, who finished fourth overall, and senior John Valdes, who came in sixth. Their top-10 finishes were instrumental in ensuring a low team score for the Chargers.
Sophomore Aidan Lopez contributed by finishing 20th, while junior Aiden Maderak placed 25th. Seniors Dominick Krzysztofek and junior Kevin Wenc added depth to the team by securing 26th and 27th places, respectively.
