Stagg boys basketball defeated Evergreen Park 60-51 in a home non-conference game, showcasing defensive grit and standout individual efforts.

Stagg High School delivered a determined and balanced showing on Senior Night, combining defensive toughness with standout individual efforts to outlast Evergreen Park in overtime. The Chargers leaned heavily on Petar Zoko, who dominated in the paint with 24 points and 16 rebounds, setting the tone. Omar Barakat provided balance with 21 points and four assists, keeping the offense steady during crucial stretches. Defensively, Dovydas Zuperka was a difference-maker, adding nine points, eight rebounds, and an imposing eight blocks that disrupted Evergreen Park’s rhythm. Alwaleed Ahmad’s two charges reflected the team’s hustle and willingness to sacrifice for momentum.
Statistically, Stagg’s shooting efficiency stood out, hitting 39 percent from the field and 32 percent from beyond the arc, both ahead of Evergreen Park’s marks. While Evergreen Park held a slight rebounding edge at 39 to 38 and excelled at the free-throw line with 87 percent accuracy, Stagg’s ball movement and defensive presence proved decisive. The victory improved their record to 14–15 overall and 5–11 in conference play.
